Abstract

This review is an attempt to illustrate the co-relation between inflammatory cytokines (such as IL-6, TNF alpha and IL-1), angiogenic markers (such as VEGF and TGFβ), apoptotic markers (such as Bax and caspase-3) and their relation to bone protection (OPG and RANKL). It also shows the role of each in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) progression. As the pathogenesis of RA depends on massive inflammation and neovascularization.
