Abstract

This study aims to identify the environmental pressures and their impact on the person psychologically and physically, which leads to psychosomatic disorders. Environmental stresses and psychosomatic disorders, as well as verifying the existence of differences between males and females and their affliction with psychosomatic disorders as a result of their exposure to environmental stresses. The study is based on the comparative correlative descriptive method using the social survey method by sample. The researcher also prepared and designed the study tools, which are: Psychosomatic disorders scale; and Environmental pressure scale. The study was conducted on a random sample of (200) workers studying or having basic courses for each of the specialist, technician, members of the occupational safety and health committees of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health implemented inside or outside the institute and according to the specific implementation headquarters, whether it was (companies, banks, hotels Hospitals, schools....). The study sample was distributed according to: (gender, age, educational qualification) as follows: A sample of graduate qualifications less than (40) years old, a sample of graduate qualifications above (40) years old, a sample of intermediate qualifications less than (40) years old, and a sample of intermediate qualifications over (40) years old for males and females separately.
The study reached several results, the most important of which were: There is a positive correlation between psychosomatic disorders and environmental stress among female workers, as there is a positive and significant correlation coefficient at the level of significance (0.001) . There is a positive correlation between psychosomatic disorders and environmental stress among male workers, as there is a positive and significant correlation coefficient at the level of significance (0.001). There is a positive correlation between psychosomatic disorders and environmental stresses for male and female workers for the total sample of the study, where there is a positive and significant correlation coefficient at the level of significance (0.001). As the greater the environmental pressures on the workers, the greater the disturbances.
The study recommends the use of renewable energy, which is the result of natural resources such as: solar energy, wind energy and water energy, as it does not pollute the environment and is economical in production, as well as increasing green spaces to purify the air necessary for living organisms and afforestation of cities to reduce environmental pollution.
