Abstract

Energy is the lifeblood. It is an essential element of economic activity in all countries of the world. The absence or lack of energy services leads to a decline in economic growth rates, which requires the provision of various sources continuously and in quantities commensurate with economic growth rates. As the pollution from conventional fuel increases and with the increasing potential for depletion of traditional energy sources, such as oil, coal and natural gas, scientists are producing clean and renewable fuels. The biomass energy, which is the extraction of biofuels, is one of these new and renewable energies. The study aims to identify biomass energy, study the most important economic and environmental impacts resulting from its use as a source of energy and review some of the successful international experiments in the field of using biomass energy and study the possibility of applying biomass energy technology in Egypt. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the analytical descriptive approach was followed. The researchers studied the theory and described the problem and analyzed its dimensions and causes using the inductive method and the logical conclusion by collecting data, information and statistics related to the subject of the study through books and references, scientific conferences, published researches, periodicals, And draw conclusions. The study found that oil and natural gas are Egypt''s main energy exporters and the main engines of production, which may represent a threat to the Egyptian economy in light of the environmental challenges. The study also pointed out that Egypt has abundant sources and production factors that qualify it to exploit the energy of biomass and the production of biofuels, motor oils and aircraft. The study recommends expanding the cultivation of non-food energy plants such as the Jojoba plant in desert areas not exploited,The state should motivate young peopleand investors to expand the cultivation of Jojoba plant through the granting of soft loans to support the stages of construction of the projects, starting to be paid after the project is running and the start of production.
