Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of NGOs in empowering women towards environmental advocacy in order to achieve the qualitative, vocational, economic, social, educational and environmental empowerment of women. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, a sample of 200 individuals was selected, distributed to NGOs working in the field of providing services and activities for women in the study area, namely Shebin El Koum and Birket El Sabaa. The sample was deliberately chosen from marginalized women who are unable to cope with the burdens of life. The descriptive approach was used by using the social survey method. The results of the study showed that women achieved percentages ranging from drop and rise within each indicator of empowerment, including recognition of the mirror awareness of the environment environment for women National Societies relative importance (61%) Yes, (29%) to some extent, (10%) do not. This means that there is an acceptable level of awareness of the concept of the environment. In terms of economic empowerment, the relative importance of the sample is relatively significant (49.39%), yes (34.67%) to a certain extent (15.94%), and educational empowerment and total sample (57.1%). 5.4%). The role of women and their empowerment through environmental advocacy for the sample respondents answered with relative importance (26.75%), yes (34.19%) to a certain extent (39.06%). The study recommends increasing the number of projects and activities provided by NGOs to empower women to develop their economic, social, educational and environmental capacities to achieve environmental advocacy and good planning of projects and activities to suit the size of the material and human resources and the suitability of marginalized groups, especially the uneducated, and enable them to play their developmental and effective role in society The importance of voluntary work and contribute to supporting NGOs towards empowering women to achieve environmental advocacy.
