Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the impact of the use of the occupational safety and health system on the management of medical waste as it is no longer hidden from the importance of occupational safety and health in various areas of life, in addition to the increasing dangers of negligence in dealing with medical waste in terms of collection, How to get rid of them. In order to determine the nature of the relationship between the use of the system of safety and occupational health and management of medical waste, the researchers used the descriptive / analytical method over a period of time starting from 2010 until 2016 through a survey of a sample of workers in the hospital and its hospitals Eight (Oncology Hospital, Obstetrics & Gynecology Hospital, Children's Hospital, Al Batinah Hospital, Surgery Hospital, Heart Academy Hospital, Poison Hospital and Psychiatric Hospital)and the number (345) single. The questionnaire came with 73 questionnaires on the questionnaire of the five independent variables and the dependent variable, as well as demographic data on the intruders. The validity and validity of the questionnaire was shown after being presented to the arbitrators and using the Alpha Kronbach factor 93%). The most important results of the study were the existence of a strong positive correlation between the variables of the study (application of international standard OHSAS 18001 in dealing with medical waste, performance of medical waste management). The study also showed that the level of performance of medical waste management can be predicted, Withan implementation requirement of 0.556 greater compliance with the management review requirement of 0.138 greater compliance with the inspection and verification requirement of 0.137 leading to an increase in the level of medical waste management performance by one unit.
