يشهد العالم اليوم تطورا تکنولوجيا على نطاق واسع، فقد أصبحت المعرفة الصفة الأساسية للمجتمعات الإنسانية الراهنة، فمن خلال المعرفة تتحقق معظم التحولات العميقة والمهمة فى کافة مجالات الحياة وذلک لصلتها الوطيدة بتنمية المجتمعات الإنسانية، واقتصاد المعرفة هو الاقتصاد الذى يحقق استخداما فعالا للمعرفة لتحقيق التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية، کما أنه يعتمد بصورة کبيرة على انتاج المعرفة والمعلومات ونشرها واستخدامها فى مختلف الأنشطة الإنتاجية والخدمية، ويحاول تحقيق المنفعة من خلال توظيف المعرفة واستخدام معطياتها فى تقديم منتجات وخدمات متميزة ومتجددة ثم تسويقها وتحقيق الأرباح وتکوين الثروة من خلالها.
          وفى هذا الإطار يقوم التعليم الفنى الصناعى بدور محورى فى هذا الاقتصاد الجديد من خلال إعداده للطاقات البشرية القادرة على الإبداع والابتکار واستغلال الافکار الجديدة، ولذلک فمن واجب التعليم الفنى الصناعى فى القرن الـ21 أن يکون منسجما مع متطلبات اقتصاد المعرفة، ومن ثم أصبح هناک حاجة ماسة لإدخال إصلاحات جذرية فى نظام التعليم الفنى الصناعى تتمثل فى تجديد وتطوير وإصلاح برامج التعليم بهدف تکامله وربطه بمتطلبات اقتصاد المعرفة.
Abstract
     The world today is witnessing wide – scale technological development. Knowledge has become the basic characteristic of of current human societies. Through Knowledge we can realized the most profound and important transformations in all spheres of life as a result of their strong link with development of the human societies. Knowledge economy is an economy that achieves an effective use of knowledge to achieve social and economic development it also relies heavily on the production of knowledge, information, disseminate and use in various productive and service actives. And tries to achieve benefit through the use of data in provision of products and services distinct and renewed and then marketing and achieve profits and wealth through it.
          In this framework industrial technical education plays a pivotal role in this new economy, through the preparation of human capacities, innovation and exploitation of new ideas. Therefore, the industrial technical education in the twenty-first century must be in line with the requirements of the knowledge economy. Hence, there is an great need to introduce radical reforms in the industrial technical education system, namely the renewal, development and reform of education programs in order to integrate it and meet the requirements of the knowledge economy.
