The wheat milling industry is one of the most important agricultural industries in Egypt. The total capital invested in this industry is LE 1.3 billion and it accommodates more than 35,000 workers in all production areas in Egypt. In the last period there has been a significant development in the number, ownership and management of mills. The total number of mills reached 153 mills in 2018 , 81 public sector mills and 72 private sector mills.
