-Abstract
Nanoscience and nanotechnology have revolutionized scientific research. Nanometer materials have several advantages over their counterparts at the micrometer scale. In many applications, the most important component is the efficient design of nanomaterials in order to clearly underline the desirable advantages and properly remove the unwanted inconveniences. There are widespread initiatives to encourage their successful usage in the field of corrosion control. In this work, the preparation and use of inorganic nano-fillers of aluminum borates (Al2O3.B2O3) with the heterocyclic compound [BITT] as corrosion inhibitors was demonstrated. The crystal structure of the as-prepared Al2O3.B2O3-[BITT] nanocomposite was investigated by X-ray diffraction. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and 1H-NMR spectra. The analysis (FESEM) and TEM were used to determine particle size and morphology.The efficiency of the prepared nanocomposite was evaluated using the Potentiodynamic Polarization Measurements (Tafel plot) method on carbon steel (C45) specimens. It is a type identical to some of the metal types used in the Halfaya complex in Maysan Governorate in the oil fields of southern Iraq. Through the practical results obtained , We note that the results of the inhibition efficiency (IE) of the prepared nanocomposite Al2O3.B2O3-[BITT] were generally very high values with constant time and temperature. the highest inhibition efficiency was at the concentration (100) ppm where it reached (99.96 %) .
