Abstract

THE 2-DAIZO-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrobenzo[b]thiophene-3-carboxamide cou coupled with either malononitrile or ethyl cyanoacetate to give the hydrazo derivatives 4a and 4b, respectively. The latter products underwent hetero-cyclization to give pyrazole, pyrimidine and pyridazine derivatives. The antimicrobial evaluation of the newly synthesized products was measured and most of the products showed interesting activities.
