This research aimed at sheding light on the merit of potato production in the governorates of Egypt, the main production during the period (1993-2005). , through the identification of the average yield per feddan and to determine the existence of significant differences between these provinces. Among the objectives of the study were identifying the economic efficiency of potatoes, the net revenues during the study, total revenue and total costs per feddan, as well as to estimate the average production cost, which maximizes net revenues, and  to assess the efficiency of export of potato. The data of this research were taken from bulletins issued by the Central Administration of the Agricultural Economy of the Ministry of Agriculture, Foreign Trade data base system, Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, and bulletins issued by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
