Abstract

Cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. Capitata L.) is important vegetable crop worldwide. In this study, response of Cabbage crop to five different organic fertilizations and in combination were evaluated on various parameters (head length with wrapper leaves, wrapper leaves number, head length without wrapper leaves, stem length, inner stem diameter, outer stem diameter, root fresh weight, root dry weight, leaves dry weight, plant weight, total head yield, and plant dry weight) in two seasons (2019/2020 and 2020/2021) compared to control under field conditions. As a result, in season 2019/2020, the application of plant manure (T1) or mixture of plant manure and animal manures (T2) significantly increased most of the examined parameters as head length without wrapper (13.7 and 12.1,cm for T1 and T2, respectively), and plant weight (3083.33and 1979.67 kg, for T1 and T2 respectively). The mixture of animal and poultry (T3) or the mixture of plant and animal manures (T2) recorded the highest parameters in head length with wrapper leaves (38.66 and 37.33, cm for T3 and T2 respectively). In addition, the obtained results in season 2020/2021 show that the plant manure(T1) or the mixture of plant and animal manures(T2) significantly improved most of the evaluated parameters, for instance, plant weight (3666.67 and 2764.33 kg, for T1 and T2 respectively), and total head yield (32.6 and 31.7 ton/fed for T1 and T2, respectively). Thus, organic manures play essential rules in improving the chemical and physical properties in cabbage. Further, investigation must be conducted on different parameters in the future.
