Abstract

The aim of the study was to identify the social and economic factors affecting the success of small projects owners in the rural area of Assiut Governorate, determine the relative importance of these factors, to identify the effects of the small projects establishment, and identify the obstacles and problems that facing the small projects owners and their suggestions for its success. The sample involved 240 owners of small projects from the four centers: Abnoub (83 respondents), Al-Fath (51 respondents), Dirout (56 respondents), and Al-Qusiya (50 respondents), Data were collected by using a questionnaire by personal interviews. All independent and dependent variables were measured. Furthermore, the statistical methods used in this study are descriptive analysis, tests of simple correlation coefficient, multiple linear regression, and step wise multiple regression. Moreover, the result of correlation coefficient indicated that there is positive significant relationships between independent variables, While there is a negative significant relationship between loan installment and the overall success level of the respondent project. It was found that the independent variables together contribute to explaining more than 66% of the variance that occurred to the degree of overall success of the respondents project. There are nine independent variables that have a significant effect on the respondent' success in the project.
