Abstract

4-Heteroarylidene-2-phenyl-1,3-oxazol-5(4H)-ones were prepared by reactions of hippuric with
3-formylchromone. Structure elucidation of synthesized compounds has been made on the basis of their elemental analysis and spectral data of IR, 1HNMR and MS. The herbicidal activity of the synthesized compounds has been evaluated against Echinochloa crus-galli.
