Scholastic and educational performance of morethan 61% of the studied cases was affected after developing DM. 71% ofthe studied cases developed psychological problems.66%were poorglycemic control .Conclusion: the strong points of the educationprogramme at our DEMPU were identified as the diet of patients, sportsand importance of regular attendance of follow up clinics while the weakpoints were the information of nature of IDDM, types of syringes andtypes of insulin used.
