هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على واقع تدريس مهارات تقرير المصير لطلبة المرحلة الثانوية من ذوي الإعاقة الفكرية بجدة، كما سعت إلى التعرف على العقبات التي تقابل المعلمين في تدريس مهارات تقرير المصير لطلبة المرحلة الثانوية من ذوي الإعاقة الفكرية في مدينة جدة، واستخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي المسحي في إجرائها، وتم استخدام الاستبانة كأداة لجمع بيانات الدراسة، وتكونت العينة من (105) معلم من معلمي الطلبة ذوي الإعاقة الفكرية في مدينة جدة. أظهرت الدراسة مجموعة من النتائج، أبرزها عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية واضحة عند مستوى دلالة (0.05≥α)  بين متوسطات ردود أفراد عينة الدراسة فيما يتعلق بواقع تدريس مهارات تقرير المصير لطلبة المرحلة الثانوية من ذوي الإعاقة الفكرية في مدينة جدة والعقبات التي تواجههم حسب متغير الجنس، وعدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية واضحة عند نفس مستوى الدلالة بين متوسطات درجات استجابات أفراد عينة الدراسة حول واقع تدريس مهارات تقرير المصير لطلبة المرحلة الثانوية من ذوي الإعاقة الفكرية في مدينة جدة والعقبات التي تواجه تدريسها حسب متغير المؤهل العلمي الحالي. وفي ضوء النتائج، أوصت الدراسة بدمج مهارات تقرير المصير في مناهج تعليم ذوي الإعاقة الفكرية، بالإضافة إلى ذلك تدعو إلى تطوير برامج تدريبية خاصة لمعلمي ذوي الإعاقة الفكرية؛ لتزويدهم بالأدوات والمهارات اللازمة لتعليم هؤلاء الطلاب بما يتناسب مع متطلبات العصر الحديث.      This study aimed to examine the reality of teaching self-determination skills to high school students with intellectual disability in Jeddah. It also sought to identify the obstacles faced by teachers in teaching these skills to this group of students. The study employed a descriptive survey methodology and utilized a questionnaire as the primary data collection tool. The sample consisted of 105 teachers of high school students with intellectual disabilities.      The findings revealed several key points, it was not a statistically significant differences at the significance level of (α ≤ 0.05) between the mean responses of the study sample regarding the reality of teaching self-determination skills and the obstacles they face, based on the gender variable. Furthermore, no statistically significant differences were found at the same significance level between the mean scores of participants' responses regarding the reality of teaching these skills and the obstacles faced, based on the variable of current academic qualifications.      Based on the findings, the study recommends integrating self-determination skills into the curricula for students with intellectual disabilities. Additionally, it advocates for the development of specialized training programs for teachers of students with intellectual disabilities to equip them with the tools and skills necessary to effectively teach these students in alignment with the demands of the modern era.
