Abstract

The research observes and analyzes lighting in cinematography, which aims to confirm and highlight the psychological state by studying the changes that occur to it through artwork (the film) , it also studies the role of leitmotifs in creating a mental or moral state for the viewer while revealing the role of light in highlighting the character of the film by emphasizing it visually. The research also analyses the artistic elements in the works of the cinematographer (Abdulaziz Fahmi) in the 1960s and 1970s, who was known for his technical and artistic level in his use of lighting in cinematography. His films are considered an important milestone in the history of cinematography, Starting from "Al-Mostahil" (The Impossible) and "Zawjati Wal Kalb" (My Wife and the Dog) to "Fajr Youm Jadid" (New Day's Dawn) and "Al-Mummya" (The Mummy), these are prominent marks in his journey in the history of Egyptian cinema, where they had a great impact on the cinematic level that requires review and analysis of his important works in which he cared about expressing drama and continuously conveying feelings to the audience By emphasizing several recurring light crises in one film, they became crises in the films of Director of Photography Abdel Aziz Fahmy. .
