Abstract

The background: Being a nurse entrepreneur involves working for oneself in a private, independent setting. Through an effective approach of entrepreneurial stimulation, nursing interns have the chance to become entrepreneurs. This study's purpose was to assess the motivational impact of entrepreneurship education programme on nursing interns. The design: quasi-experimental approach was taken prior to, immediately following, and immediately (after three months) after the programme phase. The Nursing Department Committee of Beni Suef University Hospital carried it out for nursing interns in the area of clinical training in compliance with the internship policy. Subjects: 84 nursing interns in the 2021–2022 academic year and were readily available at the time of the survey. Tools: I: Entrepreneurship knowledge questionnaire II: Questionnaire on attitudes towards entrepreneurship III: Questionnaire on Entrepreneurship skills IV: Nursing trainee motivation questionnaire. Result: Most nursing interns (77.3% & 76%) possessed acceptable levels of knowledge at the immediately post and follow-up (after 3 months) programme phases, respectively. The majority of nursing interns (90% & 85%) had competent skills levels at the programme phases of immediately following and follow-up (after three months), respectively. About two thirds of nursing interns had positive attitudes at the programme phases of immediately following and follow-up (after three months), respectively. The conclusion: there were correlations between overall attitudes, overall competence, and overall motivation and knowledge at all program stages.
