Abstract

Job rotation is a strong motivator for human resources and their creativity in performing various tasks and managing situations. It is a type of organizational change that requires preparing employees by training them on new managerial or technical skills, as well as convincing them of the need for job rotation and its benefits for both the employee and the organization, to ensure employee satisfaction, overcome resistance to change, and achieve set goals. The study aimed to explore the role of job rotation in improving the performance of employees in the official tourism agencies in Alexandria. The current study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach. To achieve the study's objective, a questionnaire was designed and distributed to a random sample of 230 employees in the official tourism agencies in Alexandria. The study found that job rotation positively affects the performance of employees in the official tourism agencies. The successful implementation of job rotation policy brings many benefits to various parties, including improving the level of employees' performance, acquiring multiple experiences, and enhancing the quality of services provided. Therefore, the study recommends the necessity of developing a long-term, well-thought-out plan by the official tourism agencies in Egypt to continuously implement job rotation policy to continuously qualify their employees to keep up with the constantly changing requirements in the tourism work environment. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of educating employees in the official tourism agencies about the concept of job rotation through organizing workshops to raise awareness of the importance of implementing job rotation policy
