Abstract

Background: E-learning has been investigated by previous studies. They report several reasons for its overall acceptability including its ease of use, flexibility, and better environmental control. Aim and objectives: To assess nursing' students' perception of E-Learning at Itay Elbaroud Secondary Technical Nursing School. Materials and methods: This descriptive cross-sectional design was conducted on 100 nursing students at Itay Elbaroud Secondary Technical Nursing School throughout 2021-2022. Results: Higher perception mean scores among the students who have a computer at home, previous experience in using computer and E-Learning, 24-hour internet (124.67±15.306,126.97±17.948,126.44±15.380,127.61±13.494, and 127.36±15.576 respectively). Additionally, a higher E-Learning perception mean score was found among students who didn't have any problem with internet use (125.10±14.311) and those who have smartphones (132.30±10.79) with a statistically significant relation between perception of E-Learning and having a smartphone (p=0.054). Conclusion: Students who have a smartphone have a positive perception of E-Learning. Also, we found that the students with rented homes and those who had special rooms had positive perceptions of E-Learning compared to those who owned homes and had no private rooms in their homes.
