Fixed dentures versus milled bar over denture supported by implant placed according to 'All on Four’ Concept: patient satisfaction

Abstract: Aim: The aim of the present study will be the investigation and the comparison the patient satisfaction with fixed dentures versus milled bar overdenture supported by implant placed according to all on four concept. Materials and methods:ten completely edentulous patients complaining from reduced stability and insufficient retention of their mandibular dentures. Received a conventional maxillary and mandibular dentures (CD). After 3 months of adaptation, four implants were inserted at interforminal  regions of the mandible. After 3 months of osseointegration period, each patient received 2 prosthesis   milled bar overdentures (MOD), fixed denture. Patient satisfaction was measured using a questionnaire 3 months after using each of the following prosthesis: CD, MOD,FD Result:implant supported milled bar overdenture and fixed denture recorded significant higher patient satisfaction than complete denture. no significant difference in patient satisfaction was noted between milled bar overdenture and fixed denture a in esthetic , complication, information prior to treatment overall implant experience ,surgical procedure ,repeat the treatment). However, speech, restorative procedure, chewing oral hygiene, showed significant difference in patient satisfaction Conclusion: implant supported fixed denture recorded significant higher patient satisfaction than overdenture in speech, chewing, restorative procedure and overdenture recorded significant higher patient satisfaction than fixed denture in oral hygiene.
