Abstract

Design for Social Justice is a growing movement and emerging field that works locally and inclusively with and for communities, stakeholders, and audiences from the ground up; advocates for those who are marginalized; and, uses the challenges inherent in daily life to activate change and motivate impact, social justice is not a form of charity but It is a belief that all human beings have fundamental rights to be treated with dignity and to have a sense of identity in their daily lives, In addition, it is the right of all people to be treated equitably in terms of resources and circumstances so that they can enjoy a basic standard of living that provides security, shelter and comfort, The study emphasizes the role of the interior designer by an analytical descriptive method based on gathering information to build the theoretical framework as he perceives basic knowledge for the relationship between people and the built environment. He deals with the experience of people through the relationships promoted by the design. Also understanding the concept of the profession and how the characteristics of the environment, colors, materials and materials, lighting, Services, guidance, etc. will affect the quality of this link. Thus, the interior spaces beginning from the smallest ones to the largest buildings going through spaces surrounding the buildings, such as facades to the courtyards, corridors and a group of other spaces where the interior sense is clear as the interior designer is aware of the aspects of design in terms of actual embodiment and extension of daily activities made by individual, family, Group or community. Confirming that interior design experts understand how design affects identity, belonging, and levels of discrimination between individuals in their communities and meeting their basic needs.
 
The issues for this research can be stated as the absence of professional practices for interior designers within projects and development policy related to community members' environment who are ignored or marginalized in local or international contexts leads to a deterioration in the quality of their life, although lot of studies have been made in identifying and defining economic and environmental sustainability while neglecting and measuring social sustainability due to the non measurable results as the same way as many environmental outcomes can be measured. Therefore the objective of this research is to discuss the role of interior designer in achieving social justice in residential domestic communities ensuring that the basic rights of the population are easily and equitably accessible in the sense of equality of access, as well as more community participation, where residents meetings allow discussion of proposed designs, making it possible to meet the expected meanwhile and futuristic needs and desires of residents and neighbors, which the author assuming that ensuring the basic rights for residents easily and honorably in terms of equality and justice in interior design by meeting the needs and satisfying desires of the future inhabitants of the building and their neighbors will affect their quality of life and achieving the social sustainability to the domestic residential community.
