Abstract

This paper provides a stylistic analysis focusing on the language of "The Help" the theoretical framework within which the study is conducted is that given by Geoffrey leech (2007) in his "study in fiction". The paper, therefore, examines the novel's stylistic features especially lexical features, such as the choice of slang words. The paper also discusses two different linguistic styles of narration: the one by black women, the other by the white ones.
