Abstract

The study aimed at determining the training priorities in 13 main areas of
knowledge including 54 sub- areas devoted for protecting the agricultural environment
in Ismailia Governorate, That aim had been achieved by estimating the total degree of
the training need in each main area studied as well as the whole degree of those










areas,





The study was administered on a random sample constituting 47% of the
agri:.Jltural extension workers in Ismailia Governorate, Data were collected by
personal interviews, and then analyses using the statistical tools suitable for the study.
The results showed that the training needs for the subjects in different sub-
areas of training ranged from (2,8) degrees, the maximum level of the high training
need to (1,85) degrees, the minimum level of the medium training need, They also
showed the lowering rank of the 13 main training areas according to the mean degree
of priority of the sample's training need as follows:
· Bio fertilizers and safe agriculture (2,72) degrees,

· Knowledge and technical skills of environmental agricultural extension (2,69)

degrees,
· The Agricultural machining and its relation with the environment (2,64) degrees,
- The Agricultural rotation and its relation with the environment (2,25) degrees,

· Using the agricultural pesticides (2,25) degrees,
· Controlling the agricultural and veterinary diverse and poets (2,23) degrees,
· USing chemical fertilizers (2,22) degrees,
·Water resources and their relation with the environment (2 20) degrees,
- The agricultural soil and its relation with the environment (2,15) degrees,

· The Organic agriculture (2,12) degrees,
· The Organic fertilizers (2 07) degrees,
· The integrated control of pests and insects (2,04) degrees.
· Extricating or releasing the agricultural waste (1.96) degrees,



Besides, the results indicated a significant negative correlation at 0,01 level
between the total degree of the training need in the 13 training areas collectively and
the period of experience of the agricultural Extension workers in their jobs that
reached ·0,289 degrees as well as their job satisfaction that reached ·0,288 degrees,
in addition to their exposure to mass and communication media -0.320,
And finally, the study recommends an increase of Agricultural
Extension workers, exposure to intensive training courses in the 13 training
areas studied according to each one's priority in the rank for improving the
structure of knowledge and skills relevant to the fore mentioned areas and
then for protecting the agricultural environment in Ismailia from pollution as
an ultimate aim of the study.
