Abstract

Today, nurses' job empowerment and job satisfaction are vital to manage hospital changes effectively. Therefore, empowered satisfied nurses can be an important factor for acceptance of change and increase productivity. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between staff nurses' perception of job empowerment and their job satisfaction. The data was collected from 120 staff nurses working in medical and surgical units at Mansoura University Hospital. The results revealed a significant difference between job empowerment and job satisfaction. Nurses at Mansoura University Hospital are empowered due to access to information, resources, opportunity and receiving support. Yet, they are dissatisfied about the overall factors of their job.
